What are the principles behind fiber optic cables

By confining light within the core, fiber optics can achieve high-speed data transmission, long-distance communication, and immunity to electromagnetic interference, making them superior to traditional copper cables . In summary, the total internal reflection principle is the key mechanism that enables fiber optic cables to guide light efficiently, allowing for fast, reliable, and high-bandwidth communication over vast distances .
